What should I know before I go?
Not much. Walk in, order at the bar, find a seat. A few things regulars already know:
- Cash only. Always has been. No cards, no apps, no exceptions.
- Parking. A small lot on site, plus street parking on Anaheim and the side streets. The lot fills fast on a game day.
- Private catering. Want Joe’s for a party or a catered event? Email admin@joejosts.com with the date and headcount.
- Order at the bar. Beer, food, and the pickled eggs all come from the counter.
- No outside food or drink. The kitchen’s got you covered.
- Kids are welcome with an adult. Ask for a mug of ice-cold root beer for them.
- Pool and shuffleboard are in the back room, under a hundred years of customer photos.
- The game’s on. A few TVs, no sound wars.

Over a hundred years. Joe Jost opened a barbershop and pool hall on Anaheim Street in 1924, got a beer license when Prohibition ended, and chose beer over haircuts. The barber pole is still out front, and it's one of the oldest continuously operated bars in California.
What can I only get at the bar?
Seasonal designs you won't find online. A few times a year the bar puts out a new design on tees, hats, glassware and whatever else fits the occasion. When it's gone, it's gone. Cash only, at the bar only.

Hard-boiled eggs cured in a brine of vinegar, hot peppers, and spices until they turn bright yellow. Served on pretzels with peppers from the jar. You can make them at home with the pickled egg mix from the shop.
Can I bring outside food or drink?
No. Everything on the menu comes from the bar, and it’s cheaper than you think.

Yes. The online shop ships the full line of tees, hats, and hoodies anywhere in the US, including military addresses. A few bar-only designs are sold in person at the bar only.
